The Milwaukee Bucks video production team produced seven videos to give fans the chance to relive each game of the playoff series with the Boston Celtics this past year. But instead of traditional recap pieces, we told these stories using non-traditional broadcast angles, capturing footage beyond the court, and trying to immense the viewer in the experience. This included interesting intro shots that helped build the atmosphere in Milwaukee and Boston; game footage that wasn't from traditional TV angles; close-ups of fans and players emotional reactions; and post game sound that helped tell the story of the game and series. I helped shoot, edit, and develop a plan to cover every single one of these games. I grew in all three of those areas by shooting more interesting and cleaner shots, editing a story together that told it from a unique prospective, and producing a blueprint for each game that helped the process go smoother. Each one of these videos had to be turned around the next day, which allowed me to gain valuable experience in time management and handling pressured situations. This experience will translate to any organization looking to add somebody with a creative eye and the ability to tell exciting stories.

One new series the Bucks started this past season was creating "vibe" pieces. These videos are cut to the music with a few soundbites to help move the story along and add some personality from the players. They go beyond the scenes and follow a quicker pace. We shot these to take fans behind the scenes during Marketing Day, big wins against opponents at home, and the Block Party during the opening of new arena.

The Milwaukee Bucks video team helped produce three short videos to engage fans with the team during their playoff run against the Boston Celtics. These were creative projects that were easy to shoot and enjoyable for the fans. I helped shoot, edit, and produce each of these pieces. These videos allowed me to think outside the box and develop fun, little skits for the fans that helped encourage positive engagement with the team. The Fear the Deer (Bloody Mary inspired) piece was my original idea, so it was fun to execute that shoot. Being able to create simple, but creative ideas that engage viewers would be an asset for any organization.

The Milwaukee Bucks video team helped produce two videos that celebrated the BMO Harris Bradley Center (the Milwaukee Bucks old arena) in different ways. The first video - The top plays over 30 years at the Bradley Center - helped fans enjoy some of the best memories in the building. The second video - the celebration of the building itself - intended to show-off the fun features and important people that fans saw every time they came to a game. I edited the first piece, which required finding the top 10 plays, digging up footage for each one, and putting it together along with soundbites that helped tell each little story. I also edited the second piece with the goal to build a nostalgic feel that made the fans appreciate the people and features the building brought. We shot in slow-mo and added some effects to help build that feeling.
One major project I put together was Brandon Jennings return to the G-League with the Milwaukee Bucks. I shot and edited this entire piece to help fans get in all-access insight to his return. This required following him around pre-game to help capture the atmosphere inside the arena and get footage fans wouldn't be able to normally see. During the game, I sat at the baseline to capture footage of Jennings making exciting plays from a different angle then the standard TV look. Telling this story was important to re-engage fans in a former rookie sensation and tell Jennings' story as he came back to a familiar community.

The Milwaukee Bucks decided two years ago to produce several feature videos highlighting different areas of their history. These videos required countless hours of work and planning. I had to watch 12 interviews, some of which were over 40 minutes long, and transcribe them to understand everything we had collected. Then, I created several story lines based on what we had and made sure each individual story made sense, gave interesting facts and tidbits, and helped viewers understand a unique portion of Bucks basketball. Finally, I layered in b-roll and tweaked the videos until it told the best stories possible. It was my responsibility to make sure this project was progressing throughout the summer and into the season so that it could be released when the necessary dates came up. These pieces were important because they helped tell the rich history of the Bucks that people might not know.

The Milwaukee Bucks conducted pre-draft workout reports to give the fans more information and fun stories about their draft prospects. I took responsibility of capturing every pre-draft workout (15 videos) during the 2017 draft, which included editing the b-roll/interviews to produce the content. This included story development, shooting, identifying good b-roll to use, and producing a compelling story line that would drive viewership. The goal with each piece was to give our viewers more content to enjoy on potential players they could see in a Bucks' uniform in the near future.

I have taken a lot of responsibility in creating videos for the community relations and corporate sales teams. These videos are essential to telling stories for partners of the Milwaukee Bucks and showing fans how the Bucks players are truly making a difference in the community. To complete each video, I have to shoot b-roll and interviews, make sure we got the necessary soundbites to tell a complete story, and edit it into a piece that both the Bucks and their clients would enjoy. It was very important to understand everybody's needs and produce a piece that tells a good story in a creative and interesting way. Another strength I would bring to any company is being able to work with clients. I understand how to communicate with clients and make sure the video is executed in a fashion that everybody likes, while also positively engaging whomever their audiences are in the community.

The Milwaukee Bucks needed coverage on their new arena being built, with bi-weekly updates giving the fans a sense of the progress being made. My responsibility was to go down to the site and capture video. I'd tour the site and interview the lead construction manager. This required shooting b-roll at the site, getting an update, and producing a concise video.

Putting together practice reports is another assignment I've taken on with my time at the Bucks. These short videos give fans an update on what the players and coaches think about what is going on in the Milwaukee Bucks season. Whenever I would be assigned to complete these, I would go down to the practice facility, capture b-roll, and edit the piece together - similar to the pre-draft workout videos. It would also be my responsibility to determine what the story line was for the day and put together soundbites/b-roll into a cohesive minute long piece.

The Milwaukee Bucks 50th season provided me with the opportunity to develop a lot of content for fans. I transcribed the 12 interviews we conducted, cut together the best sound bites, and placed compelling b-roll to showcase several unique stories that Bucks legends had to tell. These vignette pieces gave the Bucks a lot more content to help showcase their unique past. These are stories that haven't been talked about or told ever. The key with each piece was to give our viewers content they wouldn't have known previously and help grow their bond with the team by telling them more about former players.

Plays of the week is a weekly highlight fest for fans to enjoy. To put these videos together, I go through all the highlights of the week and determine the best plays. To create more intrigue and excitement, we added soundbites from the announcers. The combination of different angles, slow-mo, and reversed clips help engage Bucks fans on social media.

The Milwaukee Bucks decided to create five All-50th Team videos to help showcase their talent throughout the decades up until now. I had to dig in the NBA archives to find footage of these legends and create a comprehensive piece that uses highlights, soundbites, and various angles to help give a quick snapshot of the talent these former Bucks brought during their playing days.

My time at the Bucks has included other projects as well. I've shot, edited, and produced pieces for a variety of different categories. I edited a video showcasing the new Bucks training center with their partner Froedert Medical College; helped shoot and edit a sit-down interviews with Giannis Antetokounmpo to find out about his summer, put together top plays of the year (dunks, blocks and jumpers) videos, and edited an introduction video for the newest draft pick.

Tick Tock and Milwaukee Unchained are two projects I completed during my time at Marquette University. Tick Tock is my favorite project that I've completed at Marquette. In one of my digital media classes, I was able to write a short horror script and then bring the piece to life. I helped direct, edit, and produce the entire video. It was very difficult and a lot of work to put together, but it was the most fun I've had working on a project because I was running the show from the beginning to end. It taught me a lot about the preparation it takes to develop 6 minutes of film, which doesn't seem like a lot until you dive into everything that is necessary to make it good. I spent hours planning my shots, marking them out in the apartment, directing my team and the actors, and then finally putting it all together in the editing room. Plus, horror movies are my favorite genre, so it was fun to see my idea come to fruition. Milwaukee Unchained is a short video highlighting the different buildings and projects going on around the city. In that video, I helped shoot and edit it together to help people get a better understanding of the different places Milwaukee offers.
